The Blythe Group approached Premier Security & Electrical Solutions Ltd for the complete refurbishment of the Queen Victoria Hotel, transforming the historic building into modern assisted living accommodation. The project presented several challenges, including the need for a fully updated and compliant electrical system, comprehensive fire safety measures, and modern security solutions suitable for vulnerable residents. The existing infrastructure was outdated and insufficient for the safety and security needs of an assisted living facility.

The Solution : Tailored Electrical, Fire Safety, and Security Installation

Premier Security & Electrical Solutions Ltd was tasked with designing and installing comprehensive electrical and security systems for the facility, ensuring it met stringent safety standards and provided peace of mind for residents and staff alike.

Full Electrical Design and Installation: We provided a complete electrical redesign, installing modern systems throughout the building to support day-to-day operations and accommodate any future expansion. This included energy-efficient lighting and power systems suitable for assisted living environments.
Fire Alarm System: The facility required a custom-designed fire alarm system to ensure the safety of all residents. Our team installed an addressable fire detection system tailored to the building’s layout, providing early detection of fire hazards and quick emergency responses. The fire alarm was designed to meet all compliance standards, ensuring the building’s safety.
CCTV and Intruder Alarm Installation: To enhance security, we designed and installed CCTV systems and intruder alarms throughout the premises. These systems were strategically positioned to provide full coverage of entry points, communal areas, and outdoor spaces, ensuring 24/7 surveillance. The system was also integrated with remote monitoring capabilities to allow quick responses in case of emergencies.
Warden Call System: Recognising the need for residents to have immediate access to help, we designed and installed a warden call system. This system provided an efficient way for residents to contact staff in case of emergencies, ensuring that assistance was always available.
Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) System: For enhanced fire safety, we installed an AOV system. This system automatically opens vents during a fire to help control smoke and provide safe evacuation routes. The AOV system was designed to work seamlessly with the fire alarm, further strengthening the building’s emergency response system.

The Outcome : A Safe and Secure Living Environment
